Nintendo has announced that the Pac-Man Vs game that brought groans of disbelief when revealed, has been denied a full release of its own, and relegated to freebie status.
Unveiled by Miyamoto at Nintendo’s worst E3 conference in years, it was a comical scene indeed. After failing to announce anything of any substance, Nintendo frontman Shigeru Miyamoto exclaimed. “Right, now it is time to get down to business. I‘m going to show you an update to a classic series, with a character I’m sure you’ll all recognise…”
It’s Mario 128! It has to be. Set cameras to stun!
“Look! It’s Pac-Man on the GameCube!” declared Miyamoto.
We really couldn’t believe it.
But wait, there’s more. It’s not just Pac-Man, it’s Pac-Man Vs. It has an amazing gameplay twist in which some players can control the ghosts while another takes care of Pac-Man via the GBA.
It’s what the world has been waiting for…
Attendees at the conference were just looking at each other in amazement. Clapping was forced, it was embarrassing.
Anyway, Nintendo of America has announced today that the game will not be released as first intended, and will now be given away free with both Pac-Man World 2 (which incidentally is a cracking, underrated game) and R: Racing Evolution. No word has yet been given regarding the possibility of a European Pac-Man Vs giveaway.
