Xbox 1.5 to launch alongside True Fantasy Live Online
Microsoft gears up for Japan-friendly push.
According to reports surfacing in Japan overnight, Microsoft is poised to launch a cut-down version of its current Xbox carrying the name Xbox 1.5 or Xbox Lite, depending on which news source you read, alongside its Japan-focused MMORPG True Fantasy Live Online.
Regular readers will know that we exclusively revealed last year that a smaller version of the Xbox was in the works several months ago, following DVD supplier Benq leaking the fact that it had tendered for a component contract with Microsoft in its financial reports.
Now it seems that a release date has also been leaked, this time stemming from several Japanese gaming print publications.
With TFLO expected this year in Japan, keep ‘em peeled for a skinny Xbox too!
