Reacting to events in Iraq, Sony Computer Entertainment has announced that it will no longer use the term ‘Shock and Awe’ as part of its marketing. As you may know, ‘Shock and Awe’ was the phrase adopted by President Bush at the start of the war against Saddam, and became a synonym for killing a great deal of people by way of heavy bursts of aerial bombardment.
The term had been patented by SCE for future marketing use around PlayStation products.
