Rumour surfacing today is that Nintendo is poised to re-launch its Mother RPG franchise, known as Earthbound in the west.
The series, plagued with problems since a NES incarnation was canned way back in 1987, enjoyed an acclaimed outing on the SNES, but ended in the last version of the game, confirmed for Nintendo 64, being halted.
Reports suggest that Nintendo is dusting off the N64 code, and optimising it ready for a full-scale GameCube release.
What’s more, the SNES version, if talk this morning is to be believed, is going to be re-made for Game Boy Advance.
Expect confirmation at E3, if not before.
