Miyamoto spills more Mario beans
As his high-profile visit to the UK looms, Donkey Kong initiator and videogame catalyst Shigeru Miyamoto has made some further interesting comments relating to his next three titles, namely Mario 128, the true Mario 64 sequel, Pikmin 2 and Zelda.

According to the man himself, Mario 128 and Pikmin 2 will both be released at some point this year, with a follow-up to Zelda for GameCube to follow in 2004.

As you will no doubt be aware, we’ll be hanging around for few hours with the great man later this month, so expect a full grilling then.

What’s more interesting is what this means for Nintendo’s E3 line-up, already expected to be substantially impressive. It’s also worth noting that, while offering up teasers about Mario and Pikmin, nothing has been mentioned on Mario Kart, the game widely expected to head up Nintendo’s first-party online offering. You will remember that Miyamoto, speaking to us last year, said that Mario Kart for GameCube was his most troubling title by far.

We would predict that all the games mentioned will get an airing at E3, though whether they’ll see European shores before we’re all ordering our Zimmer frames is a different matter.
