Last Saturday’s edition of Taiwanese paper The Economic Daily News carried yet another story relating to the research and development of Sony Computer Entertainment’s next next-generation home games console.
Apparently, Hon Hai Chairman Terry Gou stated that he had brokered a deal with SCE to set up a research and development unit looking at providing electrical connectors and castings for a new games machine. The firm currently provides such technologies to various multinational computer manufacturers.
Seeing some worth in this quasi-announcement, the markets reacted positively, with Hon Hai shares surging up over 5%.
