No Pokemon Advance until 2003

Grinding development sees Pokemon slip out of immediate view

At Nintendo’s Software Policy Meeting held annually to brief the press and Nintendo’s games partners, new company president Satoru Iwata said that Pokemon Advance will not be available in the US or Europe until early next year.

Though Japanese Poke-maniacs will be able to get their hands on a copy this November, the rest of us will have to wait.

It is unknown as to whether the Pokemon brand still caries the AAA weight it previously has with the world’s children. The popularity of brands such as Sailor Moon and DragonBall Z will surely have taken a grip of the lucrative children’s entertainment market in the year since the last Pokemon release.
