Nintendo to announce online strategy
We have learned that Nintendo has now finalised its long-awaited online strategy for the GameCube console.

One day before E3 commences, Nintendo will hold a press conference to explain what it plans to do in the online world. We can also reveal that Nintendo has been talking in great depth with senior Sega technical staff. You might remember that Sega is an old hand in the world of online gaming.

It is expected that Nintendo will unveil some kind of blanket subscription-based model that will see gamers make one payment to play all online GameCube titles. We also predict that Nintendo will underline the importance of younger online gamers, and their protection from adult content whilst playing online.

We will be in attendance at the meeting, to be held in LA on May 21, and will more than likely be chatting with Satoru Iwata, Nintendo’s director of global planning, among many other things.

Stay tuned for full details nearer the time!
