'Steam Reviews' To Replace Steam Recommendations - Beta Go Go!
Following in Reddit's footsteps Steam moves ahead
A new user reviews system is about to head into its beta period on Valve's Steam service - the idea is that it'll replace the current 'Steam Recommendations' with user reviews.
The Steam community will have their chance to write reviews about games they've played and post them for all to see, as well as leave comments on other reviews and give positive/negative feedback in a similar way to Reddit's upvote/downvote mechanic.
As well as this, users have the choice to endorse their favourite authors as well as 'follow' them in order to see their newest updates.
Devs are able to browse reviews, and, although they can't actually delete a review, they're able to flag offensive content for later review by moderators (offensive material will be collapsed until it's been reviewed).
Valve hopes to add overall scores to Steam Reviews during the beta period.
