A small rise in reported failures for the new console

Sony Ups Its PS4 Failure Rate Number
Earlier this week we reported that Sony's official failure rate for the PS4 was a teeny 0.4%. Well that's changed somewhat.

Actually, it's changed by an awful lot in percentage terms. So, you'd probably best hold your breath for this one. A spokesperson for SCEA has stated that...

"There have been several issues reported, which leads us to believe there isn't a singular problem that could impact a broader percentage of PS4 units.

"We also understand that some units were reportedly damaged during shipping. The number of affected PS4 systems is less than 1%, which represents a very small percentage of total units shipped to date and is within the expected range for a new product introduction.

"We understand the frustration of consumers that have had a problem and are working with them and our retail partners to help troubleshoot issues and ensure affected units are exchanged," the statement concluded."

So yup, 1% now.

Objection, Your Honour. Statement assumes facts not in evidence. Spokesman one's claim of a 0.4% failure rate is entirely consistent with spokesman two's claim of a failure rate of "less than 1%". There is no evidence to assume that the purported failure rate has increased between the two statements. The defence rests.

The person who wrote this article is really retarded, probably didn't even read the quote probably, it said "less than 1 percent" and at the end of the article the retarded article writer said "so yup, 1% now" it's not 1 percent its less than 1 percent.
