Nintendo's resident genius of game-play and wonderment, Shigeru Miyamoto, has been making noises that suggest we might be seeing some classic titles all High-Def.

Speaking to a bunch of journalists recently in long marketing round to sell Wii U saviour, Super Mario 3D World Mr Miyamoto stated:

"That's certainly possible, but most of our developers are working on new games," he said. "We like to have them working on new stuff. HD remakes might be a good project for development partners, so that's something I hope we can introduce in the future."

What on earth would that add to what was once the keystone of great games: gameplay?

Seriously, it doesn't seem to me like such a difficult job to save Wii U:

1) Proper new Mario
2) Proper new Zelda

Either of these 2 conditions being met would cause me to buy one.
