Apple Likely to Unveil New iPads Next Week
Will compete with Microsoft's Surface launch
Apple has scheduled a press conference for October 22nd and is likely to announce new models of the iPad at the event.
There was no mention of the iPad at the company's recent conference, which showed off the iPhone 5S and 5C.
The event on the 22nd will take place at San Francisco's Yerba Buena Center for the Arts at 10am PST (6pm over here).
The new tablet is expected to be thinner and to be available in the iPhone 5C's 'space grey' colour. Rumour has it that the iPad Mini update will see the smaller tablet get a Retina display.
October 22nd is the same day that Microsoft's Surface 2 and Surface 2 Pro go on sale. Similarly Nokia, which is being bought by Microsoft, has an event scheduled on the same day at which it's expected to show new hardware.
