Deus Ex Movie Writer in Horrible Admission

Not a video game movie but a movie that's like another movie

Just so you aren't thinking along the lines of 'Oh god, another shit film based on a beloved video game', one of the co-writers of forthcoming Deus Ex movie, C. Robert Cargill, wants to put you straight.

Since the huge success of Deus Ex: Human Revolution was indeed hugely successful, and since Hollywood ran out of ideas some time ago, it made sense for CBS to option the movie rights from Square. This was in fact what we reported back in July 2012. But how does CBS stop the movie being crap? Easy...

Showing some stunning original thinking, Cargill told ComicCon, "It’s not a video game movie, it’s a cyberpunk movie." And the originality that Hollywood is known for didn't stop there as he continued:

“Eidos Montreal has given us a lot of freedom in terms of story; they want this movie to be Blade Runner. We want this movie to be Blade Runner," he depressingly drawled.

Yes, a movie that won't be a video game movie but will try to rip off the ideas of ANOTHER MOVIE as it attempts to kid a new audience of gamers into paying for 92 minutes of tiredness for the same price as a decent couple of indie titles... we'd call that a horrible admission.

In the future, it will mostly be inclement. And night time. So said Didley Squatt.
