Deus Ex Getting the Movie Treatment
Hollywood in the form of CBS Films has taken up the rights to a movie (or even a series of movies if the first one isn't so dire that it makes some money back) based on Square's Deus Ex series of games.

Variety says that, "CBS Films has secured film rights to Square Enix's cyberpunk videogame franchise "Deus Ex," with Roy Lee and Adrian Askarieh attached to produce."

It continues, "CBS Films will work closely with Deus Ex developer Eidos-Montreal on the bigscreen version. Film will revolve around second installment Deus Ex:Human Revolution."

Terry Press, co-president of CBS Films proved he is worth the big bucks with the astonishing insight that, "No one knows 'Human Revolution' like the team that created it, and we look forward to working with them from day one to make a film adaptation worthy of the 'Deus Ex' name."

John P. Middleton will serve as exec producer of the project. Maria Faillace, exec VP of production, and creative executive Alex Ginno are overseeing the project for CBS Films.

Producer Adrian Askarieh is already transferring Square IPs Hitman, Just Cause and Kane and Lynch to blockbuster and/or grittily realistic movie formats.
