Many sites raved about Zombie U - the game that Ubisoft brought to Nintendo's Wii U in a bid to add hardcore, hipster zombie gaming to what was looking at the time like a non-hardcore gaming console. Sadly, many Wii U owners were not so keen.

For the record, we gave the game 8/10 and were keen to see the console do battle with Microsoft and Sony in order to provide consumer choice as well as giving original game ideas a platform to be recognised on... as it were. For his part, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot states that the not only was the game "not profitable" it "wasn't even close" to profitable.

That's the death knell for any console title in this "price of everything / value of nothing" new world of game making. So, yes, GamesIndustry reports that:

"there are no plans (or even desire) for a sequel". Not only that but:

"It was, in fact, because of that game's performance that Ubisoft decided to make Rayman Legends a multiplatform game.

"We must find a way to ensure the creativity of those games could have a big enough audience," he says. "We hope it will take off. At the moment, we've said 'let's do through Christmas and see where we are from there.'"

Shame all round as we head into a Sony/Microsoft vanilla war of new gen consoles.

AH yes, ZombiU, a game rushed to market six-months early, with a staggering number of game-breaking bugs, failed to sell well...what a surprise.

(The only surprise is that the hacks in the gaming media lavished praised over a barely-playable tech demo.)

BTW, Spoing, be great if you pointed out that it took them nigh-on six-months to fix the game-breaking bugs. Ubi has *zero* respect for their customers, as ZombiU and Might and Magic have amply proven over the past 18-months.
