Finding it hard to locate a Wii U Basic console in your local EB Games, Australian gamers? Reports had suggested that the retailer was recalling all SKU stock, but it turns out this isn't quite the case.A statement from EB Games reads, "Recently it has been reported that EB Games is doing a recall on the Wii U White 8GB Pack. This information is incorrect. We are currently conducting a stock rebalance, which is standard procedure with all of our products and involves sending a portion of our stock back to our Head Office to get redistributed.
"All stores still have inventory of this product, and will continue to stock it as per normal for the foreseeable future."
So, a 'stock rebalance', then. Perhaps suggesting that the Premium pack, which includes much larger system memory and a copy of
Nintendo Land, is more popular with potential buyers. Vooks
originally reported that the SKU was being recalled, pointing to the fact that the Basic pack is not selling very well in Australia.
GameStop has also been tinkering with its Wii U Basic stock, sparking rumours that Nintendo is preparing to put all of its marketing focus on the Premium pack.
Thanks,
