Warner Bros has Nintendo's back. Although the Wii U has taken a bit of a beating at retail and third party publishers are few and far between, the Mad Max publisher has pledged its continuing support for the platform.WB Interactive Entertainment president Martin Tremblay moved to say that his company still believes in the Wii U, but admitted that it got off to a rocky start. But of course, being a third party publisher, he hopes that all platforms do well.
"Honestly, we hope everybody’s going to work out. It’s just good for the industry," he said in an interview with
GI. "We're a believer [of] the Wii U. I think [Wii U] has been off to a slow start, but I think they’re going to fix the problem."
Problem? He quickly retracted that statement a little bit, adding, "I don’t think it’s a problem, but it’s more about the content. And I think they showed tons of new content [at E3] that will re-energize the platform."
While Tremblay said that Warner was focusing on publishing titles for both PS4 and Xbox One, it seemed clear that he was leaning a little bit towards Sony's console. "We're building for both platforms. We like both. The specs are amazing on both sides. But I really do like Sony's price point; this is something that can give us a chance to succeed quicker."
On the Xbox One's woes, however; "You've got to listen to your consumers. You've got to listen to people playing the game. That's very important. I think I was a little bit surprised, to be honest…Now that we see that coming and we see what people want, just go with it. That's the way I look at it."
