Nintendo executive Reggie Fils-Aime was coy about a potential announcement from Activision regarding Wii U third party support yesterday, and now it seems like we know what it is. Infinity Ward has confirmed that a version of Call of Duty: Ghosts is in development for the platform. The developer's executive producer Mark Rubin revealed the news during an E3 session, but didn't go far enough to reveal any specific details. This may suggest that, like Wii versions of Xbox 360 titles, that the studio could be going for something slightly different with the Wii U hardware.
Rubin said, in an event hosted by
Gamespot (as reported by
Nintendo Everything), "That’s probably in the next-gen bin, but we’re not actually talking about Wii U yet. ‘Cause we want to keep it mysterious." He did say, however, that it will launch at the same time as the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions.
"Mysterious," then. Er, okay. Whatever floats your boat. Are you excited about the game, Nintendo fans?
