It's the news gamers around the world have been dying to hear from Sony. And tonight, their prayers were answered. Jack Tretton announced that the PlayStation 4 will not impose any restrictions on how you play, trade or share your disc-based games.
If you buy a disc on PS4, you "have the right to use that copy of the game, trade it in at retail, sell it to someone else, lend it to a friend, or just keep forever." On top of that, the PS4 will not require users to check-in using an internet connection at any time.
To further drive the knife in Microsoft's back, Tretton added that you won't need to log your PS4 onto the internet every 24 hours, a clear stab at the Xbox One's requirement for users to check-in to verify licensed disc-based games.
Sony's Shuhei Yoshida shared a video shortly after the announcement, describing exactly how the sharing system works on PS4. It's very informative. Take a look.
@Lylat Same here. Goodbye microshaft, loved the 360. Time for the PS4 to much greed.
