Nintendo eShop: Animal Crossing, Game Gear Leads Digital Releases

This week is going to be especially busy for Nintendo owners - not just because of E3, but because of Animal Crossing: New Leaf launching in the 3DS eShop this week. It leads a week of Nintendo downloads that also includes SEGA Game Gear classics and a NEOGEO favourite from yesteryear.

The addictive, colourful sandbox 'life sim' will arrive on June 14 at midnight, for £34.99. You can read our review of the game right here, and understand why you will need it in your life.

On 3DS, SEGA's Sonic the Hedgehog (£4.49), Dr Robotnik’s Mean Bean Machine at (£2.69), Shining Force: The Sword of Hajya (£3.59), and Columns (£3.59) lead the Virtual Console releases. Other titles include Harvest Moon: The Tale of Two Towns (£24.99), 4 Elements (£10.79), Luxor (£10.79), and PETZ Fantasy 3D (£17.99).

Nintendo's home consoles get some love too, albeit not as much. Wii U's Virtual Console 30p promotion continues, with Super Metroid being replaced this week with NES puzzler Mario & Yoshi on June 13, and the Wii Virtual Console gets NEOGEO classic The Path of the Warrior: Art of Fighting 3, available for 900 Nintendo Points.
