Sony has announced that it is waiving the development fees for publishing content on its PlayStation Mobile platform.Previously, anyone who wanted to develop games for the platform - which runs on PlayStation Vita and PlayStation-certified mobile devices - needed to pay an annual fee of $99. Today, that fee has been removed, meaning that a developer can release their games for free.
The PlayStation Mobile platform has had a hard time gaining traction since launch, but has proven to host some pretty nice games - our favourite at the moment being
Life of Pixel. After adding PS Vita to the number of systems PS Mobile will run on, Sony hopes that the inclusion of Unity support will lead to a significant boost in the service.
