Put your tin foil hats away! Rockstar has not ulterior motives for delaying Grand Theft Auto V til September 17. At least, that's what the studio has said on its official website, putting to rest what it calls "conspiracy theories" surrounding the game's Spring slip. What these conspiracy theories are, exactly, haven't been disclosed. One popular rumour doing the rounds suggests that the delay could mean
GTA V will appear on next-generation consoles at some stage. But all Rockstar is willing to say is that people are talking - and the company doesn't like it.
"To those of you saying or seeing various conspiracy theories about there being some other ulterior motive for this delay, rest assured that they're all nonsense," reads a statement on the
developer's website.
"Literally the only reason we've delayed the release is because we want the game to be as good as it needs to be." Well, that's all of you told, then. The statement adds that official box art images will be released soon, and that more information will be shared in the coming months.
