The video games industry is a small world and Activision in the UK has just proved exactly how small it really is in a mad merry-go-round management move.Basically, the current MD - Peter Hepworth - is leaving the company to pursue more time with this family or take up other families or somesuch, his replacement is the real surprise.
MCV has it that, "Hepworth joined the company in 2005 and he replaced Andrew Brown as UK MD in August 2011. But he has decided to leave the firm to pursue new opportunities. Brown will now take back his UK responsibilities on an interim basis."
For its part, Activision had a spokes-bloke say: ""Peter Hepworth, Managing Director of Activision's UK operations has decided to leave the company to pursue new career opportunities.
"We will be continuing to work with Peter on UKIE initiatives and would like to thank him for his many years of service. In the interim, the Activision Blizzard UK and Ireland business will be overseen by Andrew Brown, Vice-President of Sales Excellence, while we look at a longer term solution."
We sincerely love the job title, "Vice-President of Sales Excellence". Good luck to all concerned!
