Xbox Live Arcade hit Fez has been something of a life-saving indie success for Polytron and Phil Fish. To celebrate its rather wonderful year on sale, the developer has revealed that it will be taking the game multi-platform. Fish revealed that he has been listening to fan feedback regarding releases on other platforms, but did not specify exactly which systems would be worked on.
"2013 is going to be an interesting one, too. For one, Fez will finally be ported to other platforms,” said Fish. “Yes, I’ve heard you, dozens of people emailing me everyday telling me how much of an idiot i am for not porting Fez to everything."
Of course, Fish has a bit of a melancholic side to this positive 2013 outlook as well. "The future is uncertain for Polytron... It’s just me now.
"I could do anything with this company, but I don’t know what yet. There’s a couple of new games in the pipeline, of course. But there’s also an ambition to do so much more. I want to design everything! Maybe not a video game? Maybe something else entirely. I just don’t know. And that’s exciting! I hope you’re excited too."
It took a fair amount of time for the Xbox 360 version to become a reality, so we'll just sit and wait to see what happens with the other versions of
Fez before getting too excited about it.
