It's only taken five years, but it looks like Sony's PlayStation 3 may finally be allowed to be sold in an official capacity in China.A keen-eyed fan user spotted a China Compulsory Certificate (CCC) for Sony's latest home console online, and decided to share the news on social networking site Sina Weibo. The PS3 CCC, which is a requirement for most products sold in China, was granted in July and is valid through to 2016.
While home consoles have technically been banned from sale in the country since 2000, grey markets have flourished by offering gamers products imported from other countries. Sony's CCC does not necessarily mean that the PS3 will officially launch in China any time soon, for there are other political and financial factors to consider.
