Activision CEO Robert - Bobby - Kotick might have had his ambitions to buy Activision from its current owner, French media giant Vivendi, stymied - at least in the lead-up the CoD Blops II's November launch. The reason is that Vivendi has parachuted a rather large and very impressive trooper into the Activision/Blizzard board in the form of Jean-François Dubos. Why is he impressive? This is why:
Jean-François Dubos is the Chairman of the Management Board at Vivendi and is quite obviously a major corporate player.
According to his company biog, "Jean-Francois Dubos was appointed Chairman of the Management Board of Vivendi at a Supervisory Board held on June 28, 2012. He previously was Executive Vice-President, General Counsel and Secretary of the Management and Supervisory Boards of Vivendi."
He replaces Stephane Roussel, who is Vivendi's senior executive vice president of human resources and who 'stepped down' earlier this month. This now looks very much as if he was moved over to make way for Dubos.
