Sony is not going to let Nintendo launch its Wii U this Holiday Season without some form of fight. The form - launched at the Tokyo Game Show this morning - is small and takes the form of a smaller PS3 in two forms.Basic details are:
The two models of PS3, "featuring a new design and a downsized form factor, will become available in the UK on September 28th and October 12th. The new PS3 will come in two models, a 500GB Hard Disk Drive (HDD) version (launching September 28th), and a newly added 12GB flash memory model (launching October 12th)."
Importantly in the battle for wallets against Wii, Wii U and Xbox 360: "the new PS3 with 12GB flash memory offers opportunities to experience the world of PlayStation at an affordable price point."
