Nintendo Land's New Attraction is a Balloon Fight Spin-off

Nintendo has revealed one of the mini-games that will be included in Wii U launch compilation Nintendo Land - and it's a throwback to 1986 NES classic Balloon Fight.

In Balloon Trip Breeze, players use the Wii U GamePad's touch screen and stylus to guide a floating Mii character through treacherous obstacles and flying enemies. Swiping the screen will move the Mii in a particular direction, and landing on foes will put paid to their balloon-popping antics.

As much as the attraction is inspired by Balloon Fight (even down to the music), there will be various modern gimmicks thrown in to mix the action up - time stoppers, wind currents and breakable blocks are just some of the things you will interact with on your quest for floaty freedom.

Watch the trailer below - there's no word on a multiplayer version of this attraction in the Nintendo Land compilation, but it still looks rather funky as a single-player experience. Balloon Trip Breeze joins mini-games based on Zelda, Donkey Kong and Animal Crossing on the Nintendo Land disc.
