A new trademark has been registered by Sony recently, for a project known only as "Rain" - and it appears to be something of a cyberpunk-influenced action game, as leaked footage has hit the internet teasing a fair amount of gameplay material.
Sony Computer Entertainment America registered the trademark a couple of days ago, under the category of video game software. This puts the project right in line for a formal reveal at Sony's Gamescom conference next week - the company has already said it will be announcing two games there.
Rain doesn't appear to be related to Quantic Dream's Heavy Rain. We know that this was a bit of a base theory to begin with (they both have similar names! ZOMG) but it the footage does seem to rule that out properly now. Check it out here.
