After an official announcement at EA's Summer Showcase, BioWare has released details about its story-driven Mass Effect 3 DLC, Leviathan. The single-player content takes place during the events of the main game. It should be with us later this summer on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360. It'll be $10 or 800 MS Points.
BioWare
tells us, "Something lurks in the dark corners of space, something powerful enough to kill a Reaper. Shepard must discover the most closely guarded secret in the galaxy before the Reapers silence it forever. Discover more about the origins of the Reapers as you race across the galaxy to find the Leviathan. Unravel the dark history of the Reaper Race before it is too late. Coming later this summer there is no war, only the harvest."
Expect uncharted systems and unexplored chunks of the Citadel, new characters and new weapons to the tune of the AT-12 Raider shotgun and M-55 Argus Assault Rifle.
There's also a new weapons bundle coming, dubbed the Firefight Pack. BioWare promises, "two powerful new weapons and five bonus weapons to use in the fight to Take Back Earth!" It's out on August 7th across all three platforms and will set you back $2 or 160 MS Points.
Images and a few sparse details of the WiiU version of Mass Effect 3 were also released.
