E3 to Stay in LA Until 2015, ESA Confirms
Rumours suggested venue change - not going to happen.
The Electronics Entertainment Expo will remain in the Los Angeles Convention Centre until at least 2015, the Entertainment Software Association has confirmed. Rumours suggested that the trade show would switch venues, but this is not the case.
The ESA's CEO, Michael D Gallagher, announced in a statement that, "We are proud to partner with Los Angeles for another three years. The City serves as a strong backdrop for the video game industry’s biggest announcements and we look forward to remaining in LA.
"Video games are a dominant force in the global entertainment marketplace... there is no better place to display that than Los Angeles. We look forward to continuing our relationship with the City and AEG."
Gallagher's comments quashes the confusion surrounding the fate of the LACC - the construction of the Farmers Field stadium apparently means a demolishing of part of the venue, leading to rumours that E3 would instead move to San Francisco, New York, Chicago or New Orleans.
E3 2013 will take place between June 11-13.
