Activision Forced Nintendo into Controller Spend
This is the claim made by "I don't like gossip but..." man Michael Pachter
"I am not one for gossip but... that's the Xbox 720"
Everybody's favourite industry gossip, Wedbush Securities analyst Michael Pachter has been at it again. This time - although he's not saying he's been told directly - he's got some inside gen on Activision bullying poor wee Nintendo.
Speaking at Develop, Mr P spoke about the Wii U (not impressed), "I don’t get it," he said. "I think that essentially this is a solution in search of a problem. I mean, somebody had an idea - 'let's make the controller a tablet' - and there aren't many games that are going to take advantage of that," before letting rip re the trad-looking, almost Xbox 360 controller for Ninty's groundbreaking new console:
"Activision never said anything to me, but I know that [for] big games like Call Of Duty they said, 'No, we're not putting it on there if you don't give us a conventional controller'. So they gave in", he says.
That is indeed some good gossip from the man who analyses gaming in order that other people can make million dollar decisions.
