Hackable Android Console "Ouya" to Get New Minecraft Version
Sub $100 console wants the hardcore
The Ouya console that Ed Fries is backing is getting a new version of Minecraft.
USA Today reports that, "Minecraft developer Markus Notch Persson plans to deliver an updated version of his hit game for the console. Ouya hopes to appeal to hard-core gamers and casual players, as well."
This all sounds marvellous and we welcome a new console in advance of the new gen. We also welcome CEO Julie Uhrman saying that, "We are just tired of gamers spending $60 for a (console) game and feeling cheated."
So that's all fine. We hope, however, that someone stops him coming out with meaningless, Emperor's new clothes bullshit such as:
"We wanted to come up with an idea that really leveraged where the growth in gaming was and bring it to the television. We think it is pretty disruptive."
There is also a Kickstarter for the console, "Developers who donate $699 on Kickstarter get a console, two controllers and a game development kit. They will keep 70% of game revenues; Ouya gets 30% — typical of online and mobile game models."

This is untrue. Notch and the others did not even know about this until they saw that the Ouya was showing off their Android version using the console. There's a chance that this could become true, but it's not at the moment.
