How much do you think Nintendo's Wii U will cost when it launches later this year? Shopto opened pre-orders last week with an RRP of £279.99, but Amazon reckons it's cheaper than that. Some £80 cheaper, with a page offering the console for a tasty £200.The retailer listed a July 14th release date in the UK too, which seems a bit far fetched - and evidently, it must have been, because Amazon appears to have
removed the pre-order page from view.
No doubt many customers took advantage of this deal - and Amazon's pre-order price guarantee means that anyone who was lucky enough to get in before the page closed down will not be paying a penny more than the £200 offer price, even if the RRP does go up between now and launch day.
Whether Amazon will actually hold to that pre-order price guarantee policy is another matter entirely - the company has not issued a statement yet on the matter. SPOnG has contacted them, and will let you know what it says in response.
