Sony opened its E3 press conference by almost immediately revealing one of the big guns in its upcoming games lineup - the next PS3 adventure game by Heavy Rain developer Quantic Dream. David Cage took to the stage to formally announce the existence of Beyond.
It tells the story of a young girl names Jodie Holmes, who for 15 years of her life has felt a link - or some kind of contact - with a form of "invisible entity". Be that a spirit of a ghost, Cage remains vague. But players will journey with Jodie through her adolescent years as she overcomes a number of distressing scenarios. Whether that spirit is there to help or hinder her remains to be seen.
Jodie is in fact being played by award-winning actress Ellen Page, and Cage introduced a gameplay trailer which showed Jodie being interrogated in a sheriff's office following an accident in the side of the road. It looks incredible, and we can't wait to see more as the months go by.
