Sony could be preparing an overhaul of its PlayStation Plus subscription service, to be announced during its E3 press conference. According to a recent report, the revamp will include freebies and cloud save capabilities for PS Vita owners.Eurogamer cites "multiple sources" that suggest that Sony is also about to offer more "top tier" games for free to subscribers of the service. Cloud services on the Vita will mean that data will not necessarily require the use of a PC or PlayStation 3 in order to back up content.
The report claims that Sony is also implementing cloud gaming support from either OnLive of Gaikai. It is suggested that, if true, the functionality might not be specifically for PlayStation hardware, but rather Sony-branded television sets.
While Sony declined to comment, PS Plus content manager Ross McGrath has shown his excitement for the service on
Twitter. "By the way, if you don't have a PS+ subscription, now is the time to get one. For real. Just get 3 months if you aren't sure. Trust me," he wrote.
