Despite Server Problems and Hacks - Diablo III Sets New Sales Record
Good news and large champers all round over at the Blizzard chief financial officer's office as the servers grind in tech, and the lawyers look at the small local difficulty of the ID hacks - the game set the long-sought after "PC-Game Launch Record.

Activision/Blizzard, or just Blizzard or parent company Vivendi states that, "as of the first 24 hours of Diablo® III’s release, more than 3.5 million copies had been sold, setting the new all-time record for fastest-selling PC game.*

"That number does not include the more than 1.2 million players who received Diablo III as part of signing up for the World of Warcraft Annual Pass promotion. Altogether, more than 4.7 million gamers around the world were poised to storm Sanctuary on day 1 of Diablo III’s release -- representing the biggest PC-game launch in history."

This is also without players in Mexico, Argentina, Chile, and Brazil and in Russia will add to this figure when the game goes on sale in those countries on June 7th.

That is going to add loadsamoney to the already huge pile of money already earned by the game.
