Here's a reality that Nintendo shareholders might not want to contend with: "We all get older. I'm already about to turn 60". Yes, even if 60 is the new 50, the fact that Shigeru Miyamoto is even mentioning it is enough to cause share shudders.Aside from stating the obvious, though, Mr Miyamoto tells Spanish site El Mundo that, “In recent years I've been telling people within Nintendo I'll have to retire at some point. We must be prepared. That's why I given more responsibility to younger colleagues."
Strangely, however, even this isn't making him totally happy with the world, stating that, "The ideas of the younger staff are increasingly in line with my vision of these franchises [Mario, Zelda, etc], which in some ways is a bit sad because it means that my contribution is no longer necessary."
In other news, the great man also confirmed that a new
Super Mario game will be announced for Wii U at E3.
