Sony has beefed up the photo applications suite for PlayStation 3 by giving console owners access to a service called PlayMemories Studio. But what does it do? Well, it allows you to browse photos and home videos in a variety of different ways.
You can plug in a digital camera or camcorder into the PS3 and explore content saved within using a controller. A timeline filters recordings by date, favourites, detected smiles and other parameters. Users can also edit videos and access a selection of options, such as voice changing and other sound effects, along with visual modifications such as sepia, soft focus and monochrome.
Edited works can be uploaded to Facebook and transferred to PSP or PlayStation Vita.
The PlayMemories Studio software is available to download, but you have to pay for the privilege. Alternatively, you can either take on a 30-day trial or get it free by subscribing to PlayStation Plus.
