Leaked GAME Memo Confirms Mass Effect 3 Stock Decision
Could not agree with EA on credit terms.
As reports come in surrounding GAME's Mass Effect 3 stocking situation, it appears that an internal memo to GAME Group staff has been leaked that outright confirms the decision.
The document, obtained by IGN, supports Eurogamer's earlier story that the UK specialist retailer will not be stocking EA's highly-anticipated space opera. It explains that the decision "not to stock EA's March releases" has come after "asking [partners] to trade with us using manageable credit terms."
"We committed to only stocking products on which we could get the right credit terms, regardless of the title or the supplier. We will not stock products if the terms are not right for our business – we will not sacrifice long-term credit requirements for short-term sales opportunities," reads the memo.
"As a result of us taking this position – a position that we believe is critical to our long-term health as a business – we have taken the very difficult decision not to stock EA’s March releases, including Mass Effect 3."
