BAFTA's Bonkers Nominations Announced

The nominations for this years BAFTA Video Game Awards have been revealed, and the organisation seems to have gone a bit silly in its old age - it's gone and listed Resistance 3 and Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure as candidates for the Online Browser Game award.

Don't worry though, the chaps at BAFTA haven't confused a browser with a home console. It's simply got its names a little bit confused. Resistance 3 does have an online browser component, but it is titled Global Resistance and is a separate experience from the PS3 shooter. Similarly, there is a Skylanders browser game, but it's actually called Spyro's Universe.

Confusing matters aside, it looks like the Video Game BAFTA show is going to be a big night for some of last year's biggest games. Batman: Arkham City and LA Noire have eight nominations each, while Uncharted 3 and LittleBigPlanet 2 are in the running for six. Minecraft and Portal 2 make for interesting contenders for the Best Game Award.
