Hackers have allegedly obtained GAME's user database and have posted details, including email addresses and passwords in clear-text, into the public domain. The website of the UK specialist retailer could have been compromised some weeks ago, with various revisions of the database said to exist - the earliest being from 8th January. According to
Softpedia, the website had "a shell injection vulnerability that allowed hackers to access its databases and expose their customers."
If you have an account, whether this is a legitimate hack or not, SPOnG highly recommends you log in and change your password, pronto.
SPOnG will be talking to GAME this very afternoon... watch this space.
