Nintendo needs the Wii U to work. It needs it to work like, well, the Wii used to do before it was swept into the past by the like of Apple’s iPad and other iOS devices. So... the Wii U’s store will also have full-blown apps... apparently. We’re already aware that Nintendo has a “paid item transaction system for both the 3DS and Wii U systems, with developers having access to the feature on the 3DS by the end of the year,”
because we reported it back here in August 2011.We’re also aware that the company
wants better things from the Wii U’s launch than it did with the 3DS.
Now,
The Daily reports that it “has learned that Nintendo plans to implement a full-blown app store for the system.”
It’s also heard that, “The Wii U’s as-yet-unnamed store will go far beyond this, proffering a wider variety of apps, said a person familiar with the matter.”
