Nintendo has been doing some sterling work with Mr Rupert Murdoch's Wall Street Journal in order to calm investor fears about what will happen when Shigeru Miyamoto finally resigns. This stems from a Wired interview this week with Mr Miyamoto that saw him use the word "resign".Although
Nintendo quickly moved to calm investors by issuing a denial of the resignation of its creative force, it seem that the company also felt the need to get an interview published in the once great must-read for the investment community.
The WSJ has come up trumps, printing its own interview that includes Mr Miyamoto saying, “We have to construct the structure so that the organization so that it can make it without me.
"I should also admit that it might be better without me; I mean that a different approach and different talent might emerge..."
In a stroke of media management, however, he continues, "(al)though I shouldn’t dwell on this because then the article might indeed say ‘Mr. Miyamoto is thinking about retiring,’ because that is not the case.”
Not at ALL unsubtle there from NOA. Well done Reggie.
