PlayStation Vita's Asian conquest continues as gamers in Hong Kong reportedly went into something of a 'frenzy' over the handheld device.According to a report by
Engadget China, retail stores were mobbed with massive queues that wrapped around outside buildings and e-tailer websites crashed under the pressure of constant demand. At one point, the government apparently considered military quarantine of shopping districts to calm the crowds.
While it remains to be seen how much of an impact the Vita will have in the Western market, it already seems to be taking the Eastern world by storm. Even back home, various hands-on reports of the device have been extremely positive, including
SPOnG's own assessment here, and online buzz about the Vita is growing steadily.
The arrival of the iPhone and other mobile devices have led many in the West to believe that dedicated portable game systems are on the way out. Time will tell if this ends up being the case.
