The world may well have been disappointed by the lack of an iPhone 5 announcement but there were a fair few interesting revelations from Tim Cook. The brand new CEO of Apple announced that their iPod Touch is now officially the world's biggest selling portable gaming device. Speaking at the Let's Talk iPhone event held at the company headquarters in California, Cook said that "Not only is it the most popular music player in the world, but we're excited to announce it's now also the most popular portable game player in the world."
Oddly he had absolutely no figures to back this up but in all honesty it's more than likely. The biggest seller that we know of is the Nintendo DS with over 145 million units sold worldwide up to March 2011, so Apple will have had to shift around 150 million Touches since it's launch in September 2007. Maybe those who think that
mobile gaming is taking over the industry are right?
