The PlayStation Vita will soon have the ability to broadcast your gameplay sessions to friends around the world.Nico Nico - the Japanese equivalent of YouTube, essentially - will have a service embedded right into the Sony device, and will release tools allowing developers to build live streaming into their games.
A report on
Nikkei reveals that at the moment, the Vita's Nico Nico Douga functionality only allows for the broadcasting of a player's reaction as taken by the handheld's front camera. But service operator Niwango announced "Game Broadcast" at this year's Tokyo Game Show which will offer a more advanced video stream.
The game-level functionality (as in, developers will have to implement the features themselves using Niwango's API, rather than relying on system-level support) will be made available to developers in the new year.
