Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown Hitting Consoles Next Summer
Arcade aficionados rejoice! SEGA has listened to you! After saying that it would likely never happen, today the company announced that it will in fact be bringing the last Virtua Fighter 5 revision, Final Showdown, to Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network as a standalone digital download next Summer.

We're expecting a near-perfect port of the arcade version, which introduced skill additions and renewals to the original 2007 fighting classic. A simplified control system and balance tweaks will also be included, along with the addition of VF3 character Taka-Arashi and Jean Kujo from Virtua Fighter 5 R (the arcade revision that came before Final Showdown).

SEGA has revealed that the XBLA and PSN versions will also include a single-player mode, leaderboards and a one-on-one battle system. No assets were released with the press release that SEGA sent to us - so here's a trailer for the arcade announcement of Final Showdown from last year. Enjoy!
