Sony has released Version 3.70 of the PlayStation 3's System Software, which prepares Japanese gamers for the launch of then PSP Remaster series and gives PlayStation Plus subscribers a few extra perks on the side.PSP Remasters was announced by Sony Computer Entertainment Japan some time ago, and is a series of PS3-friendly console editions of popular portable titles, featuring HD graphics and stereoscopic 3D. Monster Hunter Portable 3rd will be the first of these to land on PS3 on the 25th August.
Settings specific to PSP Remasters, according to
Andriasang, include adjusting screen modes, 3D depth and configurations for Ad-Hoc multiplayer capability.
For PlayStation Plus users, the 'Automatic Download' feature has now become 'Automatic Update,' which allows subscribers to take advantage of scheduled uploads of game save data, downloads of recommended content and trophy syncing without having to lift a finger. Yep, to automatically sync your trophies to the PlayStation server, you have to be a PS+ subscriber. What larks.
Other updates include the ability to view 3D photos on the XMB or the Photo Gallery application, and a name change to the TV category on the main system menu.
It's worth noting that the PSP has also seen a system software update to 6.60, but no noticeable changes have been made. It seems to be merely a stability update.
