You might remember the PlayStation Nissan GT Academy, in where Gran Turismo players could win the chance to participate in a real, professional race. Well 2010's winner, 22-year-old Jordan Tresson, is taking part in the Blancpain Endurance Series and won the 24-hour race in Belgium over the weekend.According to
Gizmag, the RJN Motorsport GT4-class Nismo Nissan 370Z that he raced in alongside Alex Buncombe and Chris Ward came top of the table at Spa Francorchamps in the country's Ardennes region. Not only was it the first win for Tresson, but also for the Nissan which is apparently still production class.
It adds some line of credibility to the idea that
Gran Turismo can in fact transform from virtual racers to bona fide, lean mean real-life racing machines. Tresson follows the lead of 2008 GT Academy winner Lucas Ordonez, who is now competing in high-profile championships and recently came second in his class for the Le Mans 24-hour race. Jesus.
